SUNY system

I was looking at Localsororities' website (very nice by the way) and saw a bunch of sororities from the SUNY system.

I know they got rid of national sororities in 1954 (we lost a ton o' chapters thru it) but does anyone know WHY?

And when did they reverse this decision?
