I wondered about this too. I think maybe only the graduating Seniors do the walk....or maybe the others cover their faces.
I have a couple old yearbooks and they have a page for CHI. The Seniors are pictured but the others are crouched down in balls with their robes completely covering themselves. It's pretty cool looking.

Which Kappa Delta founder was also one of the original members of CHI?
