Today went pretty well.
Alexisonfire: My first party of the day! Thankfully, I didn't have to wait too long for it. I was picked up by a well-known girl on campus and we sat down to make our craft. I picked an object that was associated with my name and colored it the best I could considering I was more focused on making conversation! I felt like it went pretty smoothly. I expressed interest in holding an office and re-iterated my campus involvement. I also mentioned that I already had volunteer experience with their philanthropy and enjoyed doing it. Another girl joined us shortly after and all three of us had a pretty good convo. While I left the house still liking it, I didn't really know how to read the girls who talked to me. I was unsure if they liked me enough to invite me back. However, if they did, I would be really really happy!
We went to lunch and I resumed my parties with..
Damone: The girl that picked me up was super nice. We had an awesome conversation about everything from campus involvement, future aspirations, and of course my special situations. Another girl joined us, Damone VP, and I got along with her just as well! They both seemed impressed by my drive. I completely neglected the craft because I was enjoying myself so much! I really enjoyed my time here and hoped that they would ask me back.
311: A girl that I sort of knew greeted me and she was awesome. She gave me a great deal of info about their philanthropy and asked me about my views on it. Their philanthropy is something I am interested in as well and she knew that I had already worked with another organization to create a rally for it. She had to go set up for a short presentation and her replacement was the 311 president! I have to admit, that even though I am so comfy at this house I suddenly got really nervous!!!! I barely remember the convo and I think I babbled on about the weather. haha! When my original girl came back, I thought to myself "man, I hope I didn't just mess things up for me here!!" We talked about a few more things and it was time to leave.
Copeland: Final party!! I was so tired from the heat and was a bit lethargic during the entire thing. I felt so bad because my attention span kept weening! I wasn't doing it on purpose, but I couldn't help it. I had a pretty good convo with the girl. It seemed a bit forced and she was a little too enthusiastic about me. I had never met her before, so I didn't know if it was an act or what. Another girl joined in and it was more of the same 'ol. She's actually the little sis of a good friend of mine, who stopped by to give me a hug and say hello! I had a pretty good time, but really didn't know what to think. Especially after they both gave me hugs and seemed so stoked about me.
We had to wait foreevvverrrrr for our results tonight. The gamma chi's had a meeting with panhellenic and reported back to us that we would be experiencing heavy cuts. There are a great deal of girls going through recruitment and the sororities had to work hard to figure out who to release. They also reminded us that if we were cut from a house we have friends in, that it was not a reflection on us or our friends- just simply that there were too many girls and not enough spots. They also said that many girls would only have 2 parties to go to, so not to feel bad if we didn't have a full schedule of 3.
So... I finally get my invites and they areee.....

What?! No Damone?! I was shocked into tears! I couldn't believe I got cut from a house that I had come to dearly like in the past two days, especially after the conversations I had today. I felt like I did everything right!! I knew so many girls and felt so welcomed. However, things happen for a reason and maybe I just wouldn't have been a great fit. Telling myself that still doesn't take away the sting
I have to keep reminding myself that I'm very lucky to have a full schedule with 2 of my favorites on that list. I am also more then willing to give Copeland another shot. However, I think at this point I would really like to pref at 311 and Alexisonfire. I
do know that if I get cut from 311 tomorrow night I will be a devestated mess. I hope that won't happen and I will do whatever I can tomorrow to make sure it doesn't!!!!
Back to ABC university at 8 am again tomorrow. It's gonna be another super long day! I'm looking forward to the skits!!!
