Definitely send their head man (or woman) a letter about the conduct of the news crew. At any rate, they could have at least said, "Well, it would be too confusing to do the BBQ here, but how about if we pay for your guys to have dinner at the BBQ place one night next week?" Instead of ditching the whole deal, they could have found an easy compromise that would have given y'all good publicity and shown that they were good sports. I would ask the station president to make it up to y'all by doing something like that.
