In the end two of my friends got in, me and my other friend did not. (one of my friends is still active and the other one in inactive currently) XYZ chapter at XYZschool 200-300 girls would be at rush and XYZ chapter keep their lines small, (less than 10)since they do intake every year. When asked I was told that "it do not seem like I wanted it" which was far from the truth. I was told that I should be discreet and thought that I was doing that by attending XYZ chapter events, and getting to know its members, and becoming a leader on campus.
I am not one to go around and put all my business out there. This is something I want to do and it has been in my heart for the past 5 years. I am not originally from NY and have been here a little more than a year for grad school, so there are no hurt feelings here.
I understand the concept of discretion, but also you have to be woman enough to stand in confidence in your decision and being able to make your intentions clear of why you should want to apart of a sorority. When being interviewed as a prospective member you have to understand that if you are not confident in your beliefs of becoming a member, or no one else will be including the current members.I know enough to understand that this is one way for non greeks to talk freely about some questions or concerns that they might have, or talking with those members of a chapter you have interest in.
I do my research.Online and offline. So when someone shows interest in your sorority, discretion is important but confidence is everything.

I hear you.
I will just say this be careful not to confuse confidence with arrogance.
Good Luck in your quest.
