Man Influence

Sorors and Sistergreeks,
Whenever someone ask me "Why did you become a Delta, or What made you choose Delta?", I state all of the obvious reasons (sisterhood, service, scholarship, etc.). I never really talk about the "little" things that inflenced my decision.
For example: There is a guy from my hometown who is a member of Omega Psi Phi. Whenever I went back to my hometown for holidays or visits, he would always talk to me about being a Delta. He couldn't tell me much (since he's not a Delta), but he would talk really really good about "his sisters." Though he did not press me about it, he would always throw something into our conversation about Delta and Omega. He was overjoyed the next time I saw him and was wearing a red and white jacket with DST on it. He said, "I knew you would make the right decision." And he embraced me like he never had before.
I never really told him or talked about it, but this guy who I really have no formal relationship with, had some influence on my decision to pursue Delta.

Questions: Does anyone else know/have heard of situations like this? How common is it for men to do this type of thing? Did a member of a fraternity help you make "the right decision?"

I know this might be common for father/daughter relationships so I would like to hear your stories.
