Two things on this:
1) I'm 99% sure this is not correct; have you ever tried to get tickets to a Yankees/Sox game at the Stadium? Also, as a Yankees fan, I can tell you that the games are taken seriously.
2) Fenway Park is smaller than Yankee Stadium - thus, it may be true the Fenway seats sell out faster, but both stadiums do indeed sell out.
