Sticky situation...
I'm the National President of my sorority, and one of my pledge sisters (who is in grad school and still hangs out with the active sisters back at our chapter) called me the other day. Apparently, one of our members from a few pledge classes ago, who disaffiliated last month, is now exhibiting some interest in joining another sorority on campus (not NPC or NPHC). My pledge sister who called me about it knows this because she happened to see the ex-sister in question (along with another disaffiliated sister) signing this other sorority's sign-up sheet at the school's organization fair.
I am not familiar with the other sorority or its procedures, but I assume that someone who has already been initiated into another sorority would not be eligible to join. My question is, should I (or the President of the college chapter of my sorority) contact the other sorority to advise them that these two women have already been initiated into another sorority? If so, should they contact the chapter or should they contact nationals of the other sorority? Or should we do nothing at all and just mind our own business? Personally, if we had a girl coming through rush who had been (unbeknownst to us) initiated into another sorority, I would want someone from that other sorority to let us know before we offered her a bid, since we don't accept members who have been initiated into other sororities.
