I've heard the "circle the fat" one too, but it was from a chapter advisor. No one on my campus did that. (that I know of!)
Unfortunately, (and I hate to introduce a somber note into this discussion, but...) the "let's see how much you can drink" DID happen on my campus, and someone died. The pledges of a certain fraternity (that I will not name) were apparently told to collectively drink a certain amount of alcohol in one evening. One of them drank most of the amount (his share as well as several of his pledge brothers' shares), got sick, was not properly cared for, went into a coma, and died a couple of days later. He had a BAC that equated to 16 drinks in his system - and you metabolize 1 drink per hour - so he'd had a LOT to drink.
I'm just glad my sorority, as well as all other NPC sororities AFAIK, have a no-alcohol policy.
