It's entirely possible for those things to be separate. Rednecks usually are conservative and racist. (They're really proud of it.) But there are conservatives who aren't rednecks and who aren't racist. (For example, my parents.) And there are racists who aren't rednecks and who aren't conservatives. (I met quite a lot of these in NYC recently. It was disturbing.) Most of the "fratty" posters on GC seem to be conservatives who are not rednecks but who are racist and are just in denial about it for some reason or another.
