(And I mean OLD movies - I'm not counting anything made from 1980-present because they're too recent.
)
I recently caught the movie
Good News (1947) with June Allyson and Peter Lawford on Turner Classic Movies. The theme of the movie is kind of tired (shy, librarian type meets football hero and they fall in love) but what was interesting to me is the sorority house in the movie was a very central location. When the women weren't in class or at the soda shop, they were at the house.
The women wore their pins
everywhere and
all the time, so I had plenty of occasions to try to figure out what sorority they were a member of. I never could figure it out, but according to IMDB, Pi Phi was used in the original musical.
Can anyone else think of any old movies where fraternities/sororities were prominently featured?
