It's about time that someone who was healthy looking was on a show that girls can look up to. I teach middle school and it would make some of you sick to hear these girls talk about themselves. I had a 11 year old who is a size 8 tell me she was too fat and needed to lose weight. I had a student 3 years ago who almost died (she alctually had to be sent to a treatment center because she needed medical care round the clock) because her seventh grade boyfriend told her she was fat, she became anexoric. I had a girl who wears a size medium cry after school one day because her cheerleading coach told her to lose 10 lbs or else she was off the squad. I almost lost two sisters in college to anexoria. I would much rather see a healthy (yes it is possible to be bigger and still healthy) bigger girl then someone who starves themself as a role model for my students anyday.

*off my soapbox now*

That being said people need to stop messing with movies from my childhood.
Those are some sad examples. They make me wanna break my heart. People are going to have to get used to large women. I'm so glad that Seventeen is featuring full figured models, but the truth is that there is one or two of them per issue. Yes, there are clothes for plus sizes, but not a lot. I just wish that there was a magazine for young plus sized women. BTW, I applaud Mo'Nique for putting together a beauty pagent for full figured women. It proves to people that you can be beautiful, no matter what size you wear. Any girl that is full figured and is in middle/high school should watch it and realize that there are beautiful large girls out there. It's just that Hollywood is replacing them with twigs and toothpicks.
