I don't understand people who live in NYC, but I also couldn't stand to live way out in the country either. I'd probably go crazy in the south. I fit in rather well in the Midwest and loved living in St. Louis for school. For me, it was just the right mix.
To you, the southern plantation (so to speak) is right, for me where I am is right, and for those city folk

Chicago, NYC, Atlanta or whatever is right.
That doesn't make one region superior to the other just better for the individual.
