I've seen the statements regarding the boycotts potential impact, but the large majority of people in the industry who have made statements say it won't make a difference. I guess we'll just have to see how it works out. Jay-Z undoubtedly has influence, regardless of whether that is a good thing or not.

I think this is probably alright for both parties. Jay Z can now know that who he deals with appreciates his business, and Cristal can retain its "artistic integrity" or whatever you choose to call it. I still think its fairly understandable. This is similar to the rumors about Hilfiger from a few years back. Honestly, I'd probably feel that way if I was either of them. Granted, the rumors about Hilfiger were much more racially motivated, but if I was in their position it would be an association with a certain culture or trend that bothers me, not the color of the people using/wearing my product. I personally wouldn't want my life's work associated with hip hop culture, and would probably be willing to take a financial hit because of that. So long as Cristal is prepared for a similar situation, it may work for them as well.
