What makes no sense to me is three-pronged (LOL):
1. Michael Michaels (LOL x 2), the landlord, claims the 'rents promised to pay $4500 per month, then promised to pay after Reggie starts collecting a pro salary. So it appears there is no lease. Landlord didn't evict them after they didn't pay for months -- he waited a year. Landlord didn't wait until Reggie started collecting his pro salary. Why? That seemed agreeable to him as evidenced by the fact he allowed the family to live there for a year even though they didn't pay. Shady?
2. As to Reggie, there are enforceability issues with respect to Reggie's alleged promise to pay after going pro. Also, if his parents were supposed to be paying the whole time they were there (which is what landlord's saying, right?), what exactly was the "extra benefit" he received in violation of NCAA rules? And the timing? Yeah, incredibly shady.
3. Landlord's attorney:
plans to file a $3.2 million fraud lawsuit against Bush's parents and possibly Bush. The sum includes $300,000 in money that Michaels claims he and another investor, a documented gang member named Lloyd Lake, put into the business, plus punitive damages.
Okay, as Chris Berman would say, WHAAAAAAT?! Fraud? WTF does putting money into a "business" have to do with the house? Nothing? Yeah, that's what I thought.
This sounds like a case you'd see on one of those cheesy court shows, where some fugly woman hooks up with some skeevy unemployed guy and lets him use her credit card to buy hair gel and clothes to wear when he goes out to bang hotties and then sues him because OMG IT'S FRAUD HE'S SUPPOSED TO LOVE ME NOW I WILL GET MY REVENGE.
