I'm aware that if you went to medical school and practiced outside of the United States you have to pass certain standarized exams such as the USMLE. If you can pass those exams, you can practice medicine or at least apply for the U.S residency match program. I know several doctors who were able to do so. Perhaps in a post 9/11 world those requirements have changed.
