Delta Public Events

This question is in regards to the appropiateness of attending certain public functions. I am interested in membership at a certain Alumnae Chpater and am trying to attend as many public events as I can. The chapter will be holding a series of workshops in April and they are titled:

Diabetes Awareness Worksop (Medications and Monitoring Blood Sugar)
Diabetes Awareness Worksop (Adapting you Diet and Physical Activity)
Diabetes Awareness Worksop (Living with Diabetes to Prevent Complication)

At first, I thought they are just to make the public aware of the disease and prevention methods. But after seeing what's in the parenthesis, I feel like it might just be for those that are suffering from diabetes. Is is inappropiate to attend such a public event just to make my face known to the Deltas, or am I reading too much into it.
