Why do BLGO's down each other?

I am a non-greek who is currently interested in seeking membership in one of the 4 great sororities in the NPHC...In my research I have learned that all four of these illustrious organizations AKA,ZPHIB,DST,and SGRHO are doing great things for the African American community and that these organizations were founded to uplift people of color. I definitely want to be apart of that, as I am very interested in advocating for my people. What I don't like and definitely don't understand is why do members of these orgs disrespect each other so? Even coming on this message board and reading things people have said to each other...definitely makes me lower my head in embarrassment for some of the non-sisterly, non-positive, and definitely non-uplifting things people have been saying about each other's orgs. Why must it be that there is constant bickering about who is "so called better" ? Why is there constant bickering about who has more members, who has prettier or smarter members, who fits their stereotype, blah, blah and blah. How can your purpose be to uplift the race if you can't even uplift each other...are you all suffering from some sort of "complex" that you can't band together to rid this world of it's social ills? Instead of being apart of the problem? How can you help rid the world of racism if you can't even love your fellow greek? I know what I want so I will not let the ignorant behavior of others deter me from pledging my heart, soul, and time to the BGLO of my choice...at the same time I will also make sure that I never turn into one of the ugly hateful human beings I have seen rear its head amongst you ladies...Please grow up and start living out the true purpose of your founders! All four of your organizations are great, as someone coming into school knowing almost nothing about Greek life, I was highly impressed with what each org had to offer, although my heart led me to the doorstep of just one org...When I become Greek I will be proud to say that I belong to one out of a group of 9 wonderful organizations fighting for the greater good! For those of you that don't hate or discriminate on the next for not choosing the path you did....much love and respect to you...as for the greeks that think they are better than others and make jokes about other people's orgs.... someone definitely made a mistake letting you pledge!
