Being a good president doesn't mean being neat and organized, it doesn't mean holding all the really big positions to prove that you would be a good pres - it means earning the respect of your chapter and caring about your sisterhood. Ask some sisters who you feel close to/who you can trust for constructive criticism on why you weren't elected pres and what they think you can/should do to show the chapter you would be a good pres. I took this action and it really helped me - my biggest problem was that I wasn't assertive enough. If you are historian, go the extra mile with your position; create new things, etc. to show your chapter that you are full of fantastic ideas and that the sorority really means a lot to you. I hope this helps.
