the Double Standard between gay and straight men
All of the following scenarios are real, none of the stories you're about to hear have been fabricated or altered, the names have been changed to protect the identities of the victims...
scenario one: coming into work one day, jack begins his shift to work at a pub. He enters the kitchen to tuck in his shirt when Willy the dishwasher steps forward to welcome him...jokingly Jack states that Willy should not be checking him out, after all Jack is tucking in his shirt.
At that time Mr. X (a cook that works with Jack) comes over and states, "Yeah Willy, that's my lunch..."
at which Jack runs away at a high pitched scream and has never been the same since.
scenario two: finishing up a busy lunch over, Jack makes a comment about the laziness of one of his particular co-workers to John Doe (another cook), at which point Willy comes over and makes a quick remark that Jack should resume his work. Jack, never one to accept random criticism jokes that Willy should be careful or POW....in turn generates a reply by Willy that Jack would have to bend over to strike him....Hearing this, Mr. X steps forward and states that he is good at bending over and would like to bend over for Jack - in which case Jack throws up all over the daily special....
Question - does anyone agree that a double standard exists between the accepted behavior of homosexuals and heterosexuals? Jack feels that if comments of this nature were made by a straight man upon a woman, Jack would be in Jail right now eating some other guy's junk.
