A hearty hello to the various chatters on
www.greekchat.com! As most, if not all, of you are college graduates (and it goes without saying people very much familiar with frat life), I decided to start my online social awareness campaign here. I urge everyone to keep an open mind when they consider my pleas to the communities of college fraternities and sororities.
I myself belonged to a fraternity at one point. I will not be naming it here because of privacy reasons. I went through the whole of frat life; brutal hazing, hedonistic alcoholism and sex with sorority girls I was too drunk to remember what they looked like much less their names the next morning. I thought back to my Sunday school teacher denouncing all such things to the junior youth pastors in training, but I shoved it to the back of mind. Still, this flagrant violation of my morals began to gnaw at me. I started to use marijuana in conjunction with the alcohol. Still, it did nothing. I still wore my badge proudly as I struggled through my classes, suffering from a massive hangover and barely able to focus on even the simplest of my classes, womens' studies.
Then one day in the early junior year of college, salvation came. Father Lando Beleressian, a travelling Catholic revival preacher, ste up shop on campus. His tabernacle was rainbow colored amusement park styled after the musical "Jesus Christ: Superstar". For reasons beyond me to this day, I stumbled into the tent, and left a different man. The padre told me that I could have a fufilling life by serving God. I began attending church, speaking to my parents, and finally I left my fraternity of sin behind.
So here's the deal. Every reply to this topic will be a signature for my petition. Once this topic reaches 1,000 replies, I am going to send this the College Board in hopes of them removing any references or links to colleges which do not ban both fraternities and sororities.
