The world stops here in Tulsa when it snows, too. It really isn't because drivers are stupid (I know - I'm from Chicago and used to driving in this stuff.) It is because we have 6 snowplows for a metro area of over 500,000 people. My neighborhood in Illinois had its own plow! Heck, we had a snowblower just for our driveway! We get so little snow here though that it just doesn't make sense to budget for better care of the roads. It is cheaper to just close down for 24-48 hours until it melts!
