Exclamation AXO Terminology

Just to remind everyone that Alpha Chi Omega is progressive in using correct terminology. Please do not use "pledge class" but instead "new member class" -- it is "orientation period" not "pledge period" -- and we are not to name classes by specific letters -- no "Alpha class" but rather Spring 2006 class.

Being a CA for four years, I learn something new everyday. When our Region Coordinator met with our chapter last fall, she gave this as an explanation for not using letter designations for new member classes:

We have our three letters - Alpha Chi Omega - each chapter has a single or double letter name (Alpha - Depauw) -- we don't want to separate our chapter by further dividing it into class names. You can say "Spring 2006 class" but not "Alpha Beta class" - I know that may sound strange, but that is policy according to HQ & should be followed.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or to contact HQ & speak with your chapter liason or Regional Coordinator: 317-579-5050.

Thanks
