What bothers me are folks who joke around 'ethnically' around white people.
Let me try to give an example.
One of my sistafriends has this habit of going out of her way to 'be black' and joke around about 'black' things around our common white friends. Lots of "ooooh, weee girl," "Lawd have mercy," etc. And she DOESN'T talk this way to me when we're alone. She speaks regular english (like someone with an advanced degree should)! It's like it's for THEIR benefit.
I don't find it funny and find it particularly offensive when said common white friends expect ME to joke around, react and converse the same way just because I'm a 'sista' too.
Girlfriend's rationale behind acting like this is 'so they don't forget that they're dealing with black people.'
MOST annoying....
She gets the "as a matter of fact, black people are NOT a monolith set on this earth to entertain white folks" prize.
