The thrill of the new is vastly overrated. In my eyes, being in a long relationship is much better. You know each other for better and for worse. There is no more "auditioning" for the next date.

I think it comes down to the person.
It seems that those that like stability and their comfort zones don't like dating that much. The comfort of having that relationship and relying on their SO.
I like new things, I like being alone most of the time, and the thrill of...for lack of a better word, conquest.
