I've had a great past few days.
I sat with a chapter founder/AI at Feast of Roses and she told some really wonderful stories about her life in the past eighty five years. She is absolutely hysterical and has lived in Idaho for over fifty years but still has her Georgia accent. I'm sure some of you big squirrels have heard stories about her, and Maria has heard me retell a story using an accent. She is going to get the AGR house mother to screen men with her so I can find a suitable husband :P .One really great part was when a chapter advisor and the current president told us the differences between now and then, such as clothing, lunch hour, and curfew. Can anyone imagine not being allowed to wear pants unless it was below zero and the Dean of Women gave the okay? I also helped chaperone the Initiation dance Saturday night, and the girls have made such an effort to include me and get to know me.
I've been doing all kinds of other busy work to help out, like folding tablecloths or napkins for professor dinner, but we always have fun and the tasks aren't unpleasant because we're being silly and having a good time.
I have to attack my mountain of laundry now, I haven't stopped going since Friday morning.
