oh man, u said woody woodpecker. i forgot all about him.
1. wearing pony, diadora and kangaroo sneakers (putting money into the pocket was easy, but getting it out was a bi***)
2. playing hide and go get it
3. field day
4. snow days (i would pray for that siren to go off)
5. gazelles (those real big glasses)
6. guys wearing shags or gumbies
7. going to proms
8. penny candy
9. sitting for 4 hours and getting your own hair braided and having your mother warn, "those braids better last 3 weeks"
10. cable tv w/the "remote control" that looked like a little keyboard
11. before remote controls, being the only kid around and your only job was to change the tv channels or adjust the hanger
aaahhh the good old days. to think, when i was younger, i couldn't wait to get older. if i knew then, 25% of what i know now...
