Wedding Guest Attire

The last wedding I went to was a year ago. It was in July, in Charlotte, NC, at 6 pm, in 150 degree sunshine. It was an outdoor wedding. It was a family wedding but they said to wear something cool even though it was at 6 pm. They didn't expect anyone to wear extremely formal attire (i.e. tuxedos, etc.) I wore a black dress that came down to my knees and was short sleeved. I was cool as I could possibly be in the hot southern heat. BTW, I absolutely hated the wedding because the bride's side was absolutely the rudest, most uncongeniable people I have ever seen. I about turned around and told them they were giving Northerners a bad name (i.e. they were from Pennsylvania and so was the bride). My cousin met her at law school at the University of Pittsburgh. She dropped out after the first year because she didn't like it. She was rather whiney. Oh well. Off of my soapbox.

I say wear what you want to just as long as it's not jeans and a t-shirt.

Being a "Northerner" I'm curious what they were doing that gave us a bad name.
