I think being dressed appropriately for the season (fall, spring, etc) and the level of dress requested by the invitation should come first. If the wedding is this fall or winter, a pink/green dress isn't the way to go. You also have to consider what time of day the wedding is... so many variables! Could be a great oportunity to go dress shopping!
