Unfortunately, unlike Freemasonry, there's no 'reciprocal' agreement between members of a German university fraternity visiting an American college fraternity and vice versa.

Freemasons may visit lodges in other jurisdictions and in other countries provided both Grand Lodges are 'in fraternal relations' with each other. A letter of introduction (mainly in foreign countries), a current dues card and knowledge of certain Masonic modes of recognition is sufficient to visit a lodge. I've had the opportunity to visit Masonic lodges in Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Nevada and Mexico.
