Sig Starts Scrapbooks for Soldiers
Sig Starts Srapbooks for Soldiers
August 22, 2005
Quote:
EVANSTON, IL—Tony Leggieri, Embry-Riddle (Daytona Beach) 2002, and his wife Julie have started Scrapbooks for Soldiers, a non-profit organization dedicated to the appreciation of all U.S. service men and women around the globe.
Scrapbooks for Soldiers is not seeking monetary donations, nor does it have an agenda. It simply wants photos of you, your family, your fraternity brothers - any group or individual who would like to thank those who have volunteered to put their lives on hold for America. Within the past month, several dozen photos have been submitted but this is hardly enough to fill even one scrapbook.
Julie Leggieri is asking that people send photos with names and addresses printed on the back, allowing soldiers the chance to put a name to a face. “It's also nice if they want to include a sentence or two saying they appreciate their contribution,” she said.
1ventually, Leggieri would like to send a completed scrapbook to each military base around the globe. All photos can be sent via e-mail to photos@scrapbooksforsoldiers.org or mailed to 509 Logan St., Frederick, MD 21701. For more information on this project, visit www.scrapbooksforsoldiers.org.
