ANYONE who understands cricket
Ever since we've gotten cable, we've been watching Fox Soccer Channel, and thus Fox Sports World Report. They always show cricket highlights, and for a week we've been watching, and we just don't get it.
1) How many "innings" are there in a typical day?
2) Why do matches last five frickin days?
3) If the batter hits it, it bounces on the field, then rolls out of the oval, how many runs is that?
4) How many bowls does a better get?
5) Does everyone on the team bowl, or is there a designated bowler (ie, MLB pitcher)
6) If the batter hits it, and it just rolls into the field of play, but not far enough to start running and scoring, then what happens?
7) What if you and the other guy keep scoring runs, but end up at the other side of where you were batting?
8) When the umpire (or whatever) raises his pointer finger in the air, what does that mean?
