Many fraternities on campus had butte college students as members...something that has now been banned.

On a personal note, i am friends with Kevin Hallmeyer, the Sigma Chi being accused of giving alcohol to the student that almost died, and he is one of the sweetest guys I know. I'm sure whatever context this incident occured in (and let me assure you I probably know more about it than any of you will read in the paper) it was not with the intent of anyone getting hurt. I cannot imagine Kevin even yelling at anyone, it is just probably one of those things where "they" need someone to blame in the situation. But let me also say that Sigma Chi has taken steps in all the right directions to mend this, more so then any other group I have seen so far.

I also wanted to add that I don't know the young man who was taken to the hospital, but in reading some of his testimony it sure sounds like this could have been something he was willing to go along with at first, and now that it got out of hand he is quick to blame Sigma Chi members. Just my personal opinion.
