I think athletics and being a member of a GLO are in the same vein as working, going to school and being a member of a GLO. It's different for each person at any given school. Some people can handle, and even thrive, on the pressure and time management skills needed. Some people can't. And some people never get the opportunity to try because the Athletics Department (or their coaches) at their school (including all divisions of NCAA) don't allow it.

Though I'm sure it differs with each school, I've observed Cheerleading/dance can be just as athletic as many other sports. They still practice and train every day. They may not have the force or size or speed associated with other sports, but they still need strength and stamina to do what they do.

Or possibly even a shindig or lollapalooza.
Perhaps it'll be a hootshinpaloozaree. I don't know.
