Digital Camera Advice Needed!

Hello everyone! I need your help!

I've been using an ancient Kodak digital camera for the past two years, so it's time for an upgrade. I take my camera almost everywhere and I'm looking for a small, yet powerful camera. I don't need anything fancy schmancy, just a simple point and shoot. I want a camera that I can easily pop in my pocket when I go hiking, or in my small purse when I go dancing with friends.

Any suggestions? I've been looking at the Canon SD300 and the Kodak Easyshare LS753. I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with either of these cameras, or any other models you really recommend.
