I think she was trying to say that we can't call our volunteer hours "volunteer hours" because we're required to do them, therefore we're really not volunteering at all. Which is a mouthful to say. Next she'll be writing articles about how professors shouldn't
make students do homework since students are paying them and therefore they shouldn't ask students to do things they don't want to do.
