Unfortunately, for too many universities, the easiest way to deal with these problems is to crack down on the fraternities. Something similar happened at Ball State several years ago when two hoodlums were turned away at the door to a Lambda Chi Alpha party (my chapter's next door neighbor). These two guys then went around the back of the house, waited for the first Lambda Chi to come out, and beat him til he was comatose. The university's response? Crack down on the Greeks, even if they were following the rules when it happened.
