pardon me for butting in, ladies.
Amanda, the reason some sororities do not want prospective AIs to approach alum chapters directly is because not all alum chapters are equally informed about AI. They may get confused and think you are ALREADY an initiated ADPi who is wanting to join the alumnae chapter and become an active alum.
