Checking Accounts

Hello Sisters,

I just had a quick question for any of you who may know about your chapter checking accounts. We alumni at Colorado State have finally gotten enough members to start our alumni chapter and we went to open a checking account at Wells Fargo.
We wanted a National Chain Bank so that way if members live in other states, but serve as treasurer they could access the account. The banker at WF said that in order to set up an account with the Sigma Alpha tax number we would have to open a business account that would cost us $3 per month and have a lot of limitations. I know it doesn't sound like much, but there are a lot better things we could spend $36 a year on.
I was wondering if any of you have bank accounts that cost less, or are free at a National Chain bank, or if this is actually the best we can get.
I would really appreciate any feedback!
