I had that exact same thing for about 8 years...it would come and go so I never thought it was anything serious. It felt there was a big lump under my ribs on the right side. One night it got really bad so I went to the hospital, and they found out that the lump was my kidney. It had blocked up and had swelled to the size of a soccer ball. To make a long story as short as possible, I had my kidney taken out because it kept swelling up much like the way your abdomen seems to be doing.
PM me if you want more info. I would definitely say get to a doctor and have an ultrasound done ASAP.
