We do mock initiation at my chapter. But its AM's intiating the actives. When my class did it we initiated our big brothers into Sigma Epsilon Chi. We had humor to the whole thing but we drew from our experiences that we had that semester...pretty much based it off our AM ceremony. You know that's a really interesting interpretation of "turn-around day" that I have heard of happening in various organizations. It could be a really good introduction to discussing what ritual is, prior to actually going through one.
And also, I have heard of "mock initiations" (as defined eloquently by L.O.C.K.) as a form of psychological hazing.
