50 CENT WARNS DR. DRE

50 Cent has proven that he’s willing to go to war against anybody. And the next target could be his own executive producer and Aftermath label CEO Dr. Dre. That’s right, the rapper told Tim Westwood of the BBC that if Dre works on The Game’s next album, the result will be beef.

“To my knowledge, neither me or Dr. Dre is working on Game’s next album,” 50 said on air. “If I’m not messing with him, how is Dre going to mess with him? Then that means me and Dre got beef. I think everybody sees my pattern.”

50 seems to pick a fight with anybody that stands next to his enemies, as he did with Fat Joe and Jadakiss after they guest appeared on the song “New York” alongside his longtime rival, Ja Rule. So now that Dr. Dre is already rumored to be working on The Game’s next album, tentatively titled The Doctor’s Advocate, it may mean beef between 50 and Dre.

BLACK ROB'S POSITIVE VIBES

Black Rob and Nation of Islam leader Minister Farrakhan on the same song? Sounds unlikely, but it’s exactly what Black Rob managed to pull off on “You Know What,” a politically charged song from his latest LP, The Black Rob Report.

The Bad Boy rapper explained why he allowed the public to see his conscious underbelly. “All my life I’ve been into the Five Percent Nation and studying up on the Muslims and different things. I was in the Five Percent Nation when I was younger and sometimes my mind is set to that,” he told BET.com, but recognized that people aren’t always receptive to messages. “I try to set a standard with my style so I won’t always be talking about negativity. I drop a lot of jewels [knowledge] but it’s up to you to understand and hear it.”

Despite the message on “You Know What,” Rob said he won’t end his street-oriented rap ways – he’s just diversifying.

“If I came back sounding like Fabolous or Mase, yall wouldn’t respect that. My fans would be like, ‘Is this B.R.? Oh, [he is] cotton candy, man. He’s a lollipop sucker. Wait until I see B.R., I’m gonna set the record straight,’” he said. “See, when you change your pitch up, sometimes it ain’t good. Ain’t nothing broke, so don’t fix it.”

FANTASIA SAYS SHE CAN READ – JUST NOT WELL

Fantasia Barrino, the 2004 American Idol winner, says reports of her illiteracy are highly exaggerated.

Fantasia made headlines when news program 20/20 announced the singer was illiterate. In the current issue of Jet magazine, Fantasia responds to the report.

"When it first came on it was like, ‘big secrets you have not learned about Fantasia. She can't read or write,’" she said in the magazine. "I was like, ‘Huh? That's not in my book.’"

In her book, “Life is Not a Fairy Tale," Fantasia maintains that she couldn't read back in school, but can now. "I don't say that I can't read or I can't write, I say I have trouble - that I'm not a strong reader. But I can write," Fantasia told Jet. "I'm not illiterate. I just have some struggles and some situations that I'm not strong in. Every chance I get to speak out about it, I'm going to clear it up and let them know that I am not a dummy. If I were a dummy I wouldn't be where I am today,” she finished.

Fantasia is currently on tour with Kanye West.

JEEZY’S BABY MOMMA DRAMA

The mother of Young Jeezy’s 9-year-old son is requesting more money in child support.

"Tynesha Dykes is living in an HUD project in rural Georgia and is currently receiving a mere $178 per month in child support," her lawyer Jim Rockefeller said in a statement. "Mr. Jenkins is one of the fastest rising hip-hop/rap performers on the Billboard Charts, with well over a million records in sales in the past year and a mansion in Atlanta. He lives in high style, tours the country and is in the close company of stars like Jay-Z and Beyonce.”
Dykes revealed her dire financial status and isn’t requesting $20,000 as reported by a number of outlets. But according to the lawyer, Jeezy lied about his income. “Jenkins denied owning a mansion, or any home, whatsoever, or even a car, for that matter. He also denied owning any jewelry, despite the fact that everywhere he appears he is wearing a huge diamond snowman pendant,” Rockefeller said.

Wrapping up, Rockefeller charged that his client only wanted a fair settlement of support based on Jeezy’s current income. He also stated that the rapper said he gets $35 daily in per diem spending money.

"This is yet another example of the misogynist hip-hop /rap culture bashing women and de-emphasizing the libertine lifestyles of its male stars. Ms. Dykes is not an opportunist, she is a loving mother who only wants a decent lifestyle for her son,” he concluded.

G-UNIT GIVES BACK

All the rap beefs that swirl around G-Unit haven’t stopped the crew from caring about the kiddies.

David “Young Buck” Brown, a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit, recently gave away $25,000 to The Nashville Alliance for Public Education (NAPE), a company that raises money for the city’s public school system. Young Buck’s particular donation, given through 50’s G-Unity Foundation, will help high school students succeed in college.

"The Nashville Alliance for Public Education is proud to accept this gift from The G-Unity Foundation to benefit a program which brings out the best in students and helps close the achievement gap for low income and disadvantaged youth," said Kay Simmons, Co-Executive Director of the Nashville Alliance for Public Education. "This gift represents a statement from G-Unit and Young Buck of the importance of education."

Though Young Buck never finished high school, he did attend the Nashville school system. Every penny that Buck and others give goes directly to the schools in need and is traceable.
