Letters at another house?

Hey guys I've received a lot of mixed opinion on this subject so maybe you can give me your opinion. Is it disrespectful to wear your letters at another fraternity house event (kegger)? Some people are telling me it is, others are telling me it isn't. We're the newest group on campus just looking to make our presence known.
