A question on chapter guards...
I've got the Gamma Phi Beta badge in emeralds, and was wanting to get an emerald chapter guard. Does anyone know where to order something like that? I thought that would be very pretty!
Thanks!
Summer

I have a chapter guard with some sort of stone and gold. I don't know what it is, but it was a present to me from my chapter when I graduated. If you want, I can find out for you where they got it from and all that.

Simple, contact your IHQ and see what is available. You can special order and will cost a bunch!
Depends on Your Badge Builder.
White Gold with Pearls, 95.00 $, two Letters. Ouch!
Also check other GLOs Sites and see what they offer. Some are Less expensive. Our (LXA) Official Maker is The Maters of Design, they in my oppinon suck!
By the way, it is a beautiful Badge.

Now that I think about it, I think we go through AEPi for the Chapter Guards, who in turn go through Masters of Design. I like mine. It's 2 letters, 10 K yellow gold, with blue gems/stones/whatever.

Rudey, sounds like Saphires.?
Am sure it is very nice.
Maybe it depends on how much each GLO asks for a Residual for doing it.?

The only guards I've ever been able to find are the plain ones, the etched/chased ones, and the crown pearl guards.
I remember seeing a jeweled guard on an older ADPi pin (on ebay) but I can't find them anywhere anymore. Either it was custom-made, or they are no longer made that way?

Thank you for all of your input! I'm going to e-mail Masters of Design (Tom I agree with you though... ) and see what they can do, and what they'll charge.
I'll update when I find something out!

Kappa Sig uses Masters of Design for badges, guards and other fraternity jewelry (rings, etc.). I've always had good experience dealing with them, but you may want to check with GPhiB to see if you have a preferred vendor for such items.

Be sure to ask about the warranty - I bought a crest chapter guard at our Convention this summer and it broke the second time I wore it.

I have an answer from Masters of Design. Here is part of a reply I got from Buddy Cote.
Quote:
A double letter chapter guard (Zeta Delta) in any stone other than genuine diamonds
is priced at $88.00 in 10K gold. So an all-emerald guard would be $88.00 (plus s &
h). This would be a custom order so would require up to 6 weeks for shipment.

Check other GLOs Sites first. I checked SK and they I beleive do Burr-Patterson and or cheaper.
Masters of Design with the scrolled Guards or crap.
Unfortunatly, they are our Badge Manufacturer.
No one gives a damn anymore, it is just MONEY!
Usually, it depends on the stones, color of Gold, White or Yellow.

Those are the only kinds of guards avaliable through the official ADPi Badge Order Form, but I know you can find jeweled ones through another source because one of my chapter sisters has a sapphire guard.
