$$QUESTION$$
OK, listening to the radio this morning during my commute, the asked the question...
"If you were in a relationship with someone that was just not working out, you finally find the courage to break if off then you found out that this person have come into some SIGNIFICANT CASH-(A Million of More)"
What would you do??
I would do the right thing, being the real and honest woman that I am, if it was not working out, I would still break if off and wish him well with his good fortune...
AFTER...ALL of my student loans were PAID IN FULL!!

Moderators;
Forgive me for all of the gramatical errors that are present in this topic!

NYMinute;
I meant that I would break it off AFTER HE paid off all of my student loans! *smile*

In response to the thread: If I'm not really committed to a relationship with someone, then I'm not staying. His finances don't matter when you're trying to get out. I would be using that person, in essence. Without my dignity and peace, I'll be worse off. Now, I do hear ya'll about getting those loans paid off. And, I know that I'm the underdog here, but I'd much rather have my peace any day. With an excellent financial planner, my loans will get paid, the right way! Because you reap what you sow.

If I were at the point where it was really the last straw, he can step with his millions. No amount of money is worth my peace of mind.
Now if being with him was doable, as in, it didn't steal my peace of mind, I think I'd just ask him for the money to pay off my loans. The worse he can say is no. Heck, out of a million, I only need about $35k. If he couldn't spare that out of a million, then he would definitely get kicked to the curb. Hmph, I'm worth more than that. Ain't nobody puttin' on no airs because you have money now. Whatever.
And while I'm in here, dirtymike, why is it whenever a woman says what you didn't think she would say, she's not keeping it real? Every woman is not a gold digger. Most of us in here are intelligent degreed (or degree seeking) women. We can make our own money. We don't need men for that. I wish men could figure that out. We need you for emotional reasons. Money is much easier to come by than companionship.

We were having a similar discuss at work. Several co-workers talked about how friends or relatives that they knew that won the lottery (millions of dollars) and got divorced. They described these people giving their spouses $$$ and calling it quits. I felt that this was so sad. I felt so bad for these people because $$ is wonderful but it can never replace your loved ones. If you leave your husband or wife because you think that you can enjoy your self or find someone else. Sometimes you get what you ask for but it normally turns out worse. I would never ever stay with a man just for money. I love life and happiness too much!!!!!

This discussion is so ironic...
I was listening to the Tom Joyner Show this morning. One of the winners of the powerball was a man from Kentucky. This man had been laid off his job and was down to his last 3 unemployment checks. On top of all of that...his EX-WIFE got remarried the same day!!
She is probably dazed and confused, then mad as HELL!!!
