Ird 2005
When are you doing IRD? Toronto's IRD is on Sunday, April 17, BUT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GO!!! The Junior League new member project is the same day, and I feel like I have to be there, as it was my idea to do it. I thought that IRD was going to be the day before....*SIGH*

IRD
The Gamma Omega (U of Al - Birmingham) & Birmingham Alumnae Chapter are having IRD on Saturday, April 16th at a local park. Unfortunately, I'll be in Florida and have to miss it!

Michigan (the whole state) is having theirs on Saturday, April 9th. I had to leave early last year because my sister-daughter's aunt passed away that day and we had car pooled, so I'm hoping this year goes better.

Gamma Tau's is tentatively on the calendar for April 16th.
I know this is going to realllllllly show my age, but Mark Lindsey is doing a free concert that night in Marietta.
Don't know the time and place of our IRD activities yet so I'll have to see if I have to miss the concert.

Delta Sigma & Hawaii Alumnae Chapters will be celebrating IRD on Saturday, April 30th at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki.
Was originally scheduled for the 16th, but my dear sisters were nice enough to move it when we realized two of us wouldn't be able to go because of a schedule conflict with our Junior League fundraiser. I love my sisters

It looks like I'm going to IRD this year I've decided to help out with the set up for the event that clashes with IRD the day before instead.
Yay for IRD!

The Michigan IRD was yesterday and it was very nice! The women from Bowling Green joined us this year too, which was great to see! We did a philanthropy project for the women's shelters in the area. They raffled off a quilt made from T-shirts that the chapters had sent as well as some Alpha Gamma Delta lanyards. The proceeds from the raffle will be given to the Foundation. Congratulations to the women who were presented the Foundation Scholarship Keys! As always, it was great to meet some of the collegians that I correspond with frequently but don't always get to meet. Jane Graf made it again this year.. I don't remember her EVER not being there. Some of you will remember her as the woman who has attended the most Conventions. She is always the last one standing. She had spoken at the Emily H. Butterfield Centennial Memorial service and may have been the last Alpha Gam to see Emily before she passed away. She's such a dedicated Alpha Gam and it's always inspiring to see her there. She is also the woman who organized a reception at the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame when Emily was inducted. She is one of 19 women who wear the Circle of Epsilon Pi and she is truly an inspiration.
During chapter roll, as they announced each of the chapter's that our regular GCers are from, I thought of each of you!
LIEP,
Dee

We had IRD today. The guest speaker was from an organization for adults with disabilities that AGD and other U of T Greeks (Kappa (he called it Kappa Kappa Kappa ), Tri-Delt, AOII and Alpha Chi had connections years ago. It was also an AGD philanthropy for many years.
We also had someone whose mother was present when Tau chapter was installed. Did you know that Tau was first a local called Beta Alpha Pi?
The food was great, especially the chocolate cake..mmmmmmmmmm

Our IRD was today. We had rededication first; we did it on a deck overlooking the bay, it was gorgeous!! The food was yummy, esp. the cheesecake! We do a little thing called "squirrelatives", whcih was lots of fun and the sashes were very cute. There was lots of laughter and quite a few tears as well, us Seniors got very sentimental. I love my girls ,and I am looking forward to my next chapter in AGD as a very active alum!

I think he must have read the Greek letters wrong; (if I remember correctly) the Tau archives refer to the pre-AGD fraternity as Beta Delta Pi, an international fraternity that suffered from (among other things) a lack of organizational strength...that's why they sought out AGD
