How do you keep in touch with sisters and friends?

Question for all

How do you keep in touch with your sisters? or college friends?

Right now I have only been using e-mail. Later on I want to be able to get together with some of my sisters in the area and hang out. I also have a friend some what near me and it hard for us to meet up. Because of time and the lovely winter weather.

Does anyone have any fun or sentimental things that they do?

I just do want to lose contact with any of my sisters or friends.

I keep in touch in spurts. Some times I'll go for months without really talking to anyone, just my best friend. But like right now I've been trying to renew those ties so I've been calling and IMing people like crazy! And there's one sister who responds best to snail mail, so I write to her every once in a while. Another popular method I know a lot of people use are blogs. I just found out today through her blog that a sister is pregnant!

It's tough sometimes too because after a while you drift apart and sometimes you really need to talk to someone but they're busy with other stuff and don't call you back, sometimes ever, and that hurts but it's all a part of growing up, I guess.
