I go to SDSU (san Diego State University), and I haven't heard of any nicknames, buti have heard of some funny jokes:
*What is the first thing a SDSU girl does in the morning?
Walk home.
*How do you get a SDSU graduate off your front porch?
Pay him for the pizza.
*Why do they no longet serve ice at SDSU football games?
The senior who knew the recipe graduated.
I transfered to SDSU form a junior college, and there was a Targer next to it, so everyone called the school UBT- University Behind Target. I called it UBSD- University Before San Diego.

parrothead- YOU'RE RIGHT UP THE ROAD FROM ME!! How cool One of my sisters (XO) is going to Wright St. for grad school. Is Wright St the one with the undergroud tunnels? That sounds nice to me, but I never even looked there or at UD. I'm happy in the Nati.

Just a little play on words...but for Penn State...the State Penn. This could be for one of two reasons...there is a prison about 5 minutes away, and also, since we are so far any major town, a lot of people feel trapped in nowhere.

University of Casual Sex and Beer
University of California, Irvine:
University of Caucasian Isolation
University Of Southern California:
University of Spoiled Children
and in response...
University of California, Los Angeles
University of Children of Lower Achievement

Our school name is The University of Texas at San Antonio, but we are 25 minutes from downtown, in the woods. The re is nothing around us. So we call ourselves UT-Boerne, because we are closer to Boerne than SA.
Also, UT Sucks Ass or UT $hit Ass.
I really do like it here. Even though we dont have a football team, the joke is: "UTSA Football, Still Undefeated." But hey, We're Division I, so maybe someday.

Also, the Junior College here is called San Antonio College, or SAC for short. Everyone else calls it SLAC. OR San Pedro High, 'cause its on San Pedro Ave. Mostly burnouts go there.

My hometown had a community college called Moraine Valley... we called it
Moron Alley, or UCLA (university closest to la grange avenue). Really dumb joke to say, "oh yeah, I go to UCLA. "... guess it used to be funny?

When I was growing up there was a small local school named Bliss College. We used to always say, "Ignorance is Bliss."
Not very nice of us.

This isn't meant to offend anyone who goes to JMU in Virginia. I know people who go there and love it! However because a large number of kids from my high school went there after they couldn't get into UVA, JMU was given this name.
JMU = Just Missed UVA
