Date Parties

How much time do you usually wait to ask your date to your date parties? I've got a Valentine's Day one in 3 weeks and I still think it's too early. I've only had to ask one person to a date party (even else I've taken boyfriends) and whenever I go to frat's date parties, I'm usually asked the week before or even that same day (damn procrastinators).

Anyway I've been kinda talking to someone who took me to his date party back in the fall. And I wanna ask him but he gives crazy mixed signals. Soooo if I decide to ask him, when is too soon to ask, and should I play it off like, oh you took me to your date party so I'm asking you to mine?

Stop thinking too much and ask him now. If he blows you off and acts shady, you'll have three whole weeks to find someone new AND to get excited to bring said new man.

And, by asking early, you'll let him know that you really want to take HIM and thats *why* you're asking early. He'll:
a) be impressed with your gumption and think you're hotter (we are hot when we know what we want and do something about it)
b) be scared by your gumption and you'll see his true wimpy colors and find said new man
c) be worried that you like him and he just sees you as a friend and he'll have three weeks to squirm.

Honey, I hope its a! Let us know!

The night started off kinda stressful because our pregaming plans changed at the last minute and that made me angry. But John kept saying how gorgeous I looked and he looked really nice too. Once we got to the pregame, everything was OK. Then we went to the date party and as we're walking in holding hands, he was like, "You know I don't do this PDA sh*t" so I yanked my hand away and was all angry. And he was like, "well I was gonna make an exception for you!" but it had already pissed me off. So he was like, "Let's just start over tonight and have fun" and then things were OK. He was like, "I wanna be with you" so it was decided that we were together and I was all happy.

To make a long story short, he "slept through" Valentine's Day and didn't seem to think it was that necessary to apologize or make it up to me. My friends kept telling me he was an ass and I didn't deserve this, and that was finally the wakeup call. So he's out of the picture.
