Livejournal Sold to Six Apart

I know this could have gone in either Cool Sites or News, but I figured more people would read it here and my question would best suit Chit Chat.

I know that they say that Lj will be the same and all that, but I've got 4 years of memories written in that thing. How do you back it up? I'm super clueless about any of those programs and things, and I don't wana somehow end up losing all of it. Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing

A friend of mine says the only way to do it is copy/paste into MS Word.

There HAS to be another way!!!!

export tool...

Here's what it says about the export tool: "This tool allows you to download one month of your journal at a time, and save it in either CSV (comma separated values) or XML (extensible markup language) format. While these formats are useful for archiving your entries, they are not designed to be easily readable by humans. You will need to save the file within your web browser and then open it with a third-party program. Many spreadsheet and database programs can read CSV files, for example. "

So.. we can download them, but we need something else to view them?

I don't know why, but I'm not worried about it at all.

Me either. The chance of anything happening is very slim.
